Engaged: Julie and Gus

I can’t think of a better way to end my long engagement adventure session filled weekend than to hang out with Julie and Gus for their session at Lakewood’s Ft. Steilacoom Park. We had worried about the weather as it was supposed to rain – and yet as the day went by and we got closer to their session it just kept getting sunnier and sunnier. I just loved getting to know them and can’t wait for their wedding at Point Defiance Park this fall. It’s going to be so much fun!

We started at the site of the old Western State Ruins. I was brokenhearted to see such a cool place to shoot turn into such a bland mound of dirt – and I think they were just as saddened at what the area has become. Here they are hanging out at what remains of the ruins…

(At least there was sun flair)

I love these old barns at Ft. Steilacoom Park:

We ended up at the off leash park – sans dog – because I knew it would have some shaded tall grass to hang out in…

Tall grass + good light + affectionate couple = Happy Sacha
