Just Married: Justin and Destiny – The Skansonia Ferry and Pike Place Market – Seattle, WA

The emotional element of weddings is probably the best part of my job – I get to spend the best days of peoples live with them and share in their celebrations. So it seems quite fitting that the last wedding of my busy season was that of Justin and Destiny aboard Seattle’s Skansonia Ferry Boat – never have I been witness to so much raw emotion – both in terms of contagious laughter and genuine tears by friends and family that clearly love them so purely and passionately that they would do anything to see Justin and Destiny happy. And of course this raw emotion shown by their friends and family was also very apparent between the happy couple and as I drove home late Sunday night I couldn’t help reflect on another fun wedding season and once again conclude that I have the very best job on the planet.

This was the first wedding in my life where we didn’t do any posed formal pictures and I have to say I really enjoyed taking a step back and simply creating images as they happened naturally…that said we did go out the next day and do some fun pictures of Justin and Destiny and a few key Seattle places…I also loved this because we were not under the usual constraints you find on wedding day – we had plenty of time and it just didn’t matter if the dress got a little dirty…this first picture is the result of standing back and waiting for the right moment…

Justin with Destiny’s mom at the beginning of the ceremony:

Look closely and see their cat carrying the rings…

I love how they are looking into each other’s eyes as they exchange rings – to me it is as if they are the only people on the planet:

Definitely one of the coolest cakes I’ve ever seen (and tasted!)
