Alright, so one of the benefits of adopting an adult dog is that you don’t have to come up with a good name for your new family member. On the other hand the name he or she has might not always be the most fitting. Take my dog Maestro – while he’s one of the sweetest dogs you could ever know I don’t think he is the master of much. He’s developed a lot of nicknames since I adopted him in 2004 inlcuding Ladmo, Mr. Fluffy (after a bath) Roast Beef (after stealing three pounds of deli meat when I got home from the grocery store a couple months ago) and now I think this week we’re going to call him Skippy. He didn’t really steal it this time – someone had left the penut butter in the pantry without it’s lid and it tasted funny so I let the dogs have it. Abby wanted it but for once Maestro won. Oh what a dog will do for his penut butter…
