Brr!

Ok, I’ll be the first to admit that this is kind of an odd photograph – and that is because unless you know me well and live around here you probably have no idea what this is. Well, it’s a small section of our pool – covered in a thin sheet of ice that seems to thicken by the hour. I keep thinking it would be really neat to get a picutre of Abby walking on this ice but I really doubt it will ever get thick enough for a 40 pound dog to safely climb on and walk across. But, just outside the corners of this image is one of her balls also frozen into the ice. I didn’t notice at the time I was taking these pictures but the whole thing really seems like it has a lot of potential for humor. Of course, knowing our climate any pictures of Abby walking on the ice chasing her ball are likely going to have to be created in Photoshop. Still…I know her well enough to know that if she realized that a ball she likes was in the ice she’d have no qualms about going after it. But, I’d never do anything that might land her in the ice cold water – she loves to swim but that would be a bit extreme even for her….

Speaking of Abby I’ve gotten a couple comments from people wanting to see *my* dogs. So here she is – starting to go grey!

And here is one of Maestro – I think he looks rather large in these images and he’s not an overweight dog – just fluffy! I really need to get out and take some better photographs of these too for a holiday card…
