2008 Race for the Cure

In terms of daylight hours Saturday was the longest day of the year and I had the pleasure of spending most of it outside shooting. I started bright and early at Qwest Field volunteering for the 15th Annual Race for the Cure which raises money to fight breast cancer and assist those fighting this disease. Two of my favorite people have survived breast cancer and they were definately in my thoughts throughout the event. Over 14,000 people attended including more than 1000 survivors who were part of an awing and emotional parade at the end. Here are a few pictures which are more humbling than anything I can say:

This is for Jen who got me involved with Race for the Cure:

  • Susan - This is such an amazing thing. How many lives are touched…there is a Chirstian/Country song “I can only imagine” that kept playing in my mind while I looked at these pictures. It’s scary how many lives it affects…I highly recommend checking the song out if you haven’t heard it…might make for a good slide show song if you were so inclined…Volunteering your services was a beautiful thing friend! Love you.June 24, 2008 – 12:19 am
