If your eyes tend to glaze over while reading long technical explanations and you prefer hands on learning experiences this is a great alternative to books and online tutorials.
We’ll start by reviewing the basics at my home office in Kirkland and customize a list of concepts to work on in the field. Next we’ll head to a location that suits your goals and spend 2-3 hours working on things like exposure, composition, finding and seeing light, shooting in manual mode with confidence, etc. We’ll debrief over lunch and head back to my house and use your images to demonstrate workflow options and image editing techniques.

Common topics while shooting are exposure, composition, depth of field, lens/gear selection, perspective, seeing and using natural light, working with flash, posing different body types, shooting in manual mode, when not to use manual mode, getting those crisp images we all pine for, working with different ages, and helping self-conscious people relax.
Common topics while editing are importing/exporting, backup, catalogs, key wording, organization, culling, determining keepers, rating images, batch editing/syncing, local adjustment brush and gradient filter, clone/heal brush, creating presets, color correction, black and white conversions, duotones, vignetting, lens distortion fixes, skin softening, retouching, artistic enhancements, actions, sharpening, resizing for the web, adding url/watermark to images, and optimizing for web and SEO.

This extended version of The Solution Session is a must for the majority of “accidental” photographers who feel overwhelmed after opening a photography business without a plan or vision for more than “making a little extra money on the side.” If you know how to create beautiful images but feel lost when it comes to turning an enjoyable hobby into a profitable business this option is for you.
We’ll start by taking a look at where you are now – as a person, photographer, and business owner. Next we’ll dream big and think about where you’d really like to be and what your ideal work life would look like. Once we have this dream destination in mind we’ll create a detailed map full of actionable steps to get you there.
Creating this map is a very important part of the growth process but follow up action is even more crucial to your success. To facilitate a sense of accountability I also include twelve weekly half hour chats via Skype were we will monitor progress, celebrate accomplishments, and work through any challenges that arise. $1330.
