Sunrise over Diamond Head

I think it’s safe to say that most of the sunrises I’ve witnessed over the years have come at the end of an all nighter. In Hawaii however I’m surprised at how often I’m up before the sun and dozing before my usual dinner time. It’s an oddity that can’t really be explained by the mere two hour time difference and a peculiar habit that disappears as soon as I make my way back the frigid northwest. Looking back I was naive to think we’d have the beach to ourselves at such an early hour but I’m still convinced we would have had hundreds more people to shoot around had we opted to try and do this around sunset. Here are some of my favorites from a sweet and sexy anniversary portrait session at Ala Moana Beach Park :

  • Erika & Philip - Aloha Sacha!…. thank you so much for the fun time taking our portraits. It was a sunny and pleasant morning, and although I wasn’t jumping of excitement to get wet, you encourage me to go for it!….. I adore the shots. This was a celebration portrait for our second wedding anniversary, before kids come our way. I wanted to freeze this moment to remember when we were young, fresh, and still look so much in love!….. I pray to God that He keeps the spark alive for ever. Thank you for capturing our special day 🙂 you were fantastic!April 20, 2010 – 6:52 pm
